Our mission is to provide high quality, collaborative, therapy-focused psychiatric care that centers the whole person and empowers the patient in their own treatment. We seek to provide a therapeutic environment where people of all neurotypes, gender identities, religious beliefs, and ethnicities feel welcome and safe. We hope to provide a judgment free space that will work to destigmatize mental health disorders, as these disorders arise out of the most basic experiences that make us human.
Dr. Kristen Sadana (she/her) is a board-certified psychiatrist. She has been a student of human behavior since high school, where she was drawn to anthropology through Desmond Morris documentaries and then the writings of Margaret Mead. In college she majored in anthropology with a particular interest in cultural anthropology and behavioral ecology, completing an internship at the American Museum of Natural History before graduating summa cum laude from New York University. Dr. Sadana attended New York University Grossman School of Medicine. There, she was impressed and fascinated by the laser-like focus of attending psychiatrists who seemed preternaturally able to understand what was happening with patients after just a simple conversation. Dr. Sadana thrived in her psychiatry rotations, as she felt naturally comfortable utilizing her empathic understanding to diagnose and heal. Dr. Sadana completed her residency training at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. There, she found boundless compassion for her patients, many of whom suffered from severe mental illnesses. She served as Chief Resident at the Bronx Psychiatric Center in her final year of training. Although Dr. Sadana’s interest was always in outpatient work, she found the therapy-focused, long-term care of patients in the facility highly rewarding and wished to guide younger residents on their journey as they developed their own therapeutic skills. After graduation, Dr. Sadana has been working as an outpatient psychiatrist in Fairfield County. She hopes to foster an inclusive and safe environment where a true therapeutic relationship is built between doctor and patient.
